Uniquely smooth - the spirit of the Iceni.
First we create our spirit from the finest Norfolk barley and then redistil to vapour infuse a basket of the finest botanicals, including juniper, citrus and with a nod to the Iceni - nettle.
This captures delicate flavours to create a fine London dry gin that can be sipped on its own or it pairs beautifully with elderflower tonic.
Available in 50cl, Boadicea Gin is 40% ABV
Boadicea Gin is available in the following expressions.
Boadicea Gin ‘Classic’
Boadicea Gin in its classic blue bottle is available year round. Distilled in copper to create an ultra-smooth London dry gin. Deliciously enjoyable on its own over ice, or add just a splash of tonic and garnish with orange and fresh thyme to create a longer cocktail.
Boadicea Gin ‘Rosa’
Vapour infused in our traditional copper still, with subtle notes of peach and cherry. Perfect served straight up over ice, or for a longer serve, with champagne or prosecco.
Boadicea Gin ‘Winter’
Distilled from October to December, Boadicea Gin ‘Winter’ is produced in limited quantities and distilled using cranberries and winter spice to create a warming gin, perfect for those autumn and winter evenings by the fire.
Who was Boadicea?
Britain has produced many fierce, noble warriors down the ages who have fought to keep Britain free, but there was one formidable lady in history whose name will never be forgotten – Queen Boudica or Boadicea as she is more commonly called.
At the time of the Roman conquest of southern Britain Queen Boadicea ruled the Iceni tribe of East Anglia alongside her husband King Prasutagus.
Boadicea was a striking looking woman. – “She was very tall, the glance of her eye most fierce; her voice harsh. A great mass of the reddest hair fell down to her hips. Her appearance was terrifying.” – Definitely a lady to be noticed.
Thank you to Historic UK for insight into Queen Boadicea.
